I have recently bought a new camera, and also a telephoto zoom lens. I have always enjoyed taking photos, especially of wildlife. This new camera has enabled me to add another dimension to this hobby of mine, I can get is so much closer to my subjects! I walk at a park near my work most days, and for a while was taking a photo every day of one plant or another, as a local garden club was always adding new plants, plus there are wild flowers growing in different areas of the park. I was thinking I was going to miss taking these shots over the winter, but now, with this new zoom lens, I have turned my eye more toward the wildlife in the park. I have always observed squirrels, finches, cardinals, etc., but in the past few moths I have noticed a hawk, or possibly a few hawks, in the park. They were always too fast and far for me to catch on my cel phone camera, or on my old camera. I have absolutely loved catching shots for the past week or two of these beautiful birds on the wing, and I can't wait to improve my skills with catching shots of birds and other wildlife over the winter. I was only seeing them on occasion over the summer and fall, but this past week I have seen at least one every day, possibly due to less foliage with the coming of winter. I've also been moved to conduct light research on ornithology websites because of my recent hawk sightings to learn more about hawks & their habitats. I've pretty much always enjoyed watching birds and wildlife but am pursuing it with a renewed interest and zeal at this point. :)Wednesday, December 8, 2010
Can't keep my mind from the circling sky
